About Dr. Satish Poonia​

Born in Bewad village, Churu district, Rajasthan, Dr. Satish Poonia has devoted four decades to public life, guided by a singular conviction: that politics is a pursuit of purpose. A Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Rajasthan and the author of "अग्निपथ नहीं जनपथ," he has always brought equal measures of thought and action to public service.

His journey began with the ABVP in 1982, where he rose through the student movement before being entrusted with the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha as its State President. For the following decade, across four terms as State General Secretary of BJP Rajasthan, he built the party's foundations from the ground up, district by district.

In 2018, he was elected MLA from Amber, and the following year was entrusted with the leadership of BJP Rajasthan as State President, a role he held until 2023, steering the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic with steady resolve and preserving its grassroots strength throughout.

In 2023, the party called upon him to serve as State In-charge for Haryana ahead of the 2024 Assembly elections, where his leadership delivered a historic third consecutive term for the BJP. In June 2026, he was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, a fitting culmination of four decades of consistent, ground-level service to the party and the people.
